Bergl Room
A door leads on into the two Bergl Rooms, whose walls are completely covered in murals painted in 1766 by the artist Johann Bergl, one of Maria Theresa's favourite painters. The rooms are painted with illusionist exotic landscape murals which astonish even connoisseurs.
The original use of these rooms has yet to be fully clarified. During Elisabeth's time they were probably used as dressing rooms and recreation rooms by the empress's staff.
