The emperor's apartments were adjacent to those of the empress. This room was originally their marital bedroom but later became the empress's bedroom in which she also spent a considerable part of the day. A notable feature of this room is the neo-Gothic family altar of Carrara marble. Dating from 1855, it was executed by Vinzenz Pilz.
