The entrance to the Sisi Museum and the Imperial Apartments is via the imposing Emperor's Staircase, which Franz Joseph also used to gain access to his apartments.
Here the first two rooms provide you with information about the Habsburg and Habsburg-Lorraine family and the history of the Vienna Hofburg.
To aid orientation you will also find a scale model, built around 1900, of the whole palace complex.
After this, the tour takes you through the Sisi Museum, followed by the rooms in the former apartments of the famous emperor and empress, most of which still have their original furnishings.
